Gunman found guilty in killing of New Orleans woman and unborn child

New Orleans jurors convicted a Plum Orchard man for his role in a fatal 2019 drive-by shooting that killed a woman days before she was set to give birth.

Tychelle Ridgley, 28, was 8 1/2-months pregnant when Zachery Holmes and two other gunmen ambushed her boyfriend near the couple’s doorstep in the 4700 block of Viola Street the night of Aug. 18, 2019.

Two bullets pierced the front door, striking Ridgley as she sat on a couch in the front room. Ridgley died within minutes, along with her fetus, already named Me’Lo Alexander…
