The New Orleans Office of Safety and Permits recently warned a number of small businesses and bars in the French Quarter they must remove unpermitted chairs and A-frame signs from sidewalks and could face significant fines.
The visits from the city comes as businesses in the area struggle to remain open amid city construction projects that have dragged on for much of the last year.
