A federal judge has scheduled a new trial in New Orleans’ blockbuster staged wrecks conspiracy after a jury deadlocked earlier this month on murder-conspiracy charges against the plot’s mastermind.
Chief U.S. District Judge Wendy Vitter on Thursday ordered the retrial of Sean Alfortish and Leon “Chunky” Parker to begin on June 7, 2027, court records show.
Alfortish and Parker each face five murder-conspiracy counts for the killing of Cornelius Garrison III, a “slammer” who ran vehicles into moving 18-wheelers under the yearslong insurance scheme.
