A Jefferson Parish jury on Thursday handed up a split verdict in a trial over a Super Bowl reporter’s death, convicting the woman who drugged him of negligent homicide and acquitting the codefendant who’d allegedly supplied the narcotics.
Danette Colbert, 49, and Rickey White, 35, were convicted of racketeering. Both had faced charges of manslaughter and racketeering in connection with the Feb. 5, 2025 death of Adan Manzano, 26, a Kansas City-based sports reporter who was in New Orleans to cover the Super Bowl.
