Crooked teeth, surveillance video link man to Village de L’est killing, New Orleans police say

Surveillance video and the suspect’s crooked teeth helped lead New Orleans police to arrest Travis Brown in a Nov. 12 killing in Village de L’est. In documents they filed in Criminal District Court, police said Brown, 25, was arguing with Erik Mukhtar, 25, when Brown pulled a gun and shot him several times in the 14700 block of Chef Menteur Highway. Brown ran into an apartment there and later past the complex’s leasing office, where a camera recorded him, police said.
