Homeowners see hefty insurance premiums despite two years of no hurricanes

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) – Never mind that no hurricane has hit Louisiana since August 2021; many homeowners are receiving much higher insurance premiums for this year. A Jefferson Parish homeowner received a premium renewal for $12,218. Last year, the homeowner’s premium was $8,768. It is a $3,500 unexplained increase.
