Car riddled with bullets after shooting near New Orleans school

NEW ORLEANS ( WGNO ) — The New Orleans Police Department reported shots fired near outside of a school in the Pine Village neighborhood on Monday, Jan. 29.

Police say, around 9 a.m. NOPD officers were called to the 6500 block of East Hermes Street. It was confirmed that a man fired shots at a car outside of the KIPP East school.

NOPD officers said the school was not put on lockdown and that there were no injuries reported.

There have been no arrests made. The NOPD is in the process of gathering evidence and information to determine a possible suspect and motive.
