Teen wanted for escape from New Orleans caught in Atlanta

New Orleans Police said Tuesday that a teenager who escaped juvenile custody in New Orleans last month and threatened a woman with a gun has been captured near Atlanta.

U.S. Marshals notified NOPD that they arrested Kai Jefferson in DeKalb County, Georgia. Information from the NOPD and U.S. Marshals Office in New Orleans helped lead to that arrest.

Jefferson is wanted on three counts of aggravated assault with a firearm and one count of criminal damage to property.

Jefferson was also booked on a warrant from the Louisiana State Office of Juvenile Justice.
