Former Entergy New Orleans CEO Daniel Packer dies

NEW ORLEANS ( WGNO ) — Former Entergy New Orleans CEO and President Daniel Packer has died.

Packer’s family released a statement stating Packer died peacefully on Wednesday, Jan. 31, surrounded by his wife, children and grandchildren.

A spokesperson for Entergy New Orleans said Packer joined Entergy in 1982 and became the company’s president in 1996 and CEO in 1998.

During his time at Entergy New Orleans, the spokesperson said Packer led the company at the time of Hurricane Katrina.

“As we bid our farewells, Dan’s enduring legacy remains woven into the fabric of this company. The indelible impact he left on his colleagues, the community, and the corporate landscape are a testament to a life well-lived. We extend our deepest condolences to his family and loved ones. He will be missed by his family at Entergy,” said the spokesperson.

Funeral arrangements are pending at this time.
