Endymion lights up Saturday night

NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) – This parade is guaranteed to light up your life.

It’s the Krewe of Endymion.

And WGNO Good Morning New Orleans features reporter Bill Wood is watching and waiting for the show you can probably see from space.

The Krewe figures as many as a million folks lined up on the streets of New Orleans to see this spectacular show.

This year’s theme is “Silents Are Golden”.

It’s a salute to silent films.

Like Snow White .

And Alice in Wonderland .

And The Mask of Zorro .

And the parade salutes the late Ed Muniz, the founder and captain of the parade that continues to roll into Carnival Season history.

This year’s Captain’s float was a tribute to him.

And to a horse.

A racehorse.

When Ed Muniz wanted a name for his Mardi Gras Krewe, he was inspired by that racehorse.

The name of the horse.

Endymion.
