NOPD: Separate shootings land two men in hospitals

New Orleans police are investigating two separate Saturday shootings, one in the French Quarter and another in Algiers.

The first happened 12:30 p.m. Saturday on Mardi Gras Boulevard on the Westbank. Investigators learned of that shooting after the victim, a man, arrived at a hospital seeking treatment for a thigh wound.

The second shooting happened around 2:30 a.m. Sunday in the French Quarter. Police say officials at a local hospital called them after a man went there to seek treatment for a body wound. Police are still working to find out where exactly the shooting happened.

If you know anything about either incident, call the NOPD at 504-658-5300 or Crimestoppers at 504-822-1111.
