St. Tammany Parish crash leaves driver dead

ST. TAMMANY PARISH, La. ( WGNO ) — Troopers with the Louisiana State Police are investigating a crash that left a person dead in St. Tammany Parish on Saturday, Feb. 10.

The LSP reported the crash happened on Interstate 12 near Highway 59 around 9 p.m.

LSP officials said an initial report shows an unidentified person was driving a GMC east on I-12 when they drove off the road and hit a tree.

The driver suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

LSP officials said the investigation is ongoing, and a routine toxicology sample was collected.
