The New Orleans coroner identified four men slain by gunfire last week in four separate shootings spanning Holy Cross, Hollygrove, the French Quarter and the Lower Ninth Ward. So far this year, at least 21 people have been murdered in New Orleans, according to a Times-Picayune analysis of NOPD data. Killings are down about 28% from this time last year, when 29 people had been slain.
