New Orleans Feb 18 Weekly Crime Report: 3089 Incidents and 53 Crime Stories

During the last week, New Orleans witnessed a total of 3089 crime cases, with an alarming number of them being classified as ‘Other’ which accounted for 1258 cases. The second most common crime was theft with 383 reported incidents, followed closely by disturbances with 357 cases, and assaults accounting for 293 cases. Other notable crime categories included hit & run incidents with 201 cases, suspicious situations with 135 cases, domestic-related crimes with 133 cases, and burglaries with 129 cases. Vandalism and shootings were the least reported crimes with 68 and 67 cases respectively. This data reflects a concerning trend of crime in the place, with a clear need for reinforced security measures and public vigilance. The high number of ‘Other’ crimes also calls for better categorization and understanding of the nature of these incidents.
