New Orleans Police say two people were shot overnight in New Orleans East.
The bullets were flying shortly after 2:00am.
The two incidents were just a mile apart.
“The NOPD is investigating a shooting in the 9800 block of Lake Forest Boulevard,” Public Relations Specialist Kaitlin Rust Landry said in an alert. “The call came in at 2:13 a.m.”
She told us that an adult male was shot in the leg.
EMS brought him to the hospital.
Five minutes later there was another shooting in the 8400 block of the S I-10 Service Road.
“Initial information shows a juvenile male was shot in the leg,” Landry said.
EMS took him to the hospital.
“The call came in at 2:18 a.m.”
Landry later said the second shooting appeared to be an accident.
“Upon further investigation, the signal for this incident has been changed to a negligent injuring.”
