Kenner squad wins Little League Intermediate World Series

Jefferson Parish is the home of yet another Little League World Series Champion.

The Eastbank Little League squad from Kenner won the 2024 Little League Intermediate World Series in Livermore, California, on Sunday, beating the international champion West Seoul Little League from South Korea 8-7 to win the world championship.

Eastbank led 5-0 after four-and-a-half innings, but West Seoul mounted a comeback late in the game. West Seoul plated four runs in the bottom of the fifth inning to cut Eastbank’s lead to a single run. Eastbank responded in the sixth inning, scoring two more runs to make the score 7-5. The South Korean side was undeterred, bouncing back with two runs of their own in the bottom of the frame, including one scored by stealing home, to tie the game at seven runs apiece.

Eastbank took advantage of a wild pitch in the top of the seventh inning to score the game-winning run. Jackson Cantrell scored on the errant pitch, giving the Jefferson Parish squad a lead they would not relinquish.
