NEW ORLEANS ( WGNO ) — Storm surge is expected to reach 5-10 ft along some low-lying coastal communities in south Louisiana. Cocodrie is a small fishing town with low elevation that will be directly impacted by the surge and wind associated with Hurricane Francine.

Water has already rose to a point that it is now covering most of the roadways surrounding LUMCOM.  LUMCON is known for its research in coastal and marine sciences.
