One arrested after bomb scare at Algiers school

ALGIERS, La. ( WGNO ) — The New Orleans Police Department is investigating a bomb scare at an Algiers school that landed a juvenile in jail.

According to NOPD officers, the incident happened Monday, Sept. 16 around 10:42 a.m. in the 4400 block of General Meyer Avenue.

The suspect was at a school in the area, reportedly feeling impatient when they photographed the building and posted it to social media with a threatening message, according to officers.

Discovering the post, NOPD officers said they contacted the suspect who, while being arrested, said they “didn’t mean any harm.”
