The New Orleans Fire Department (NOFD) has recently welcomed a batch of thirty recruits into its firefighter training program, housed at the Victor H. Schiro Municipal Training Academy, with the new class R-2-24 embarking on a rigorous 24-week training schedule before they can hit the ground as Probationary Firefighters. These recruits, who began their training on Monday, according to an announcement found on the NOFD website, are set to receive extensive instruction in diverse areas including Structural Firefighting Techniques, Apparatus Driver Training, Hazardous Materials, and Marine Firefighting, aiming to be well-rounded in their fire service capabilities.
