Assault suspect facing drug charges after New Orleans traffic stop

NEW ORLEANS ( WGNO ) — A man wanted for aggravated assault allegations has been arrested following a traffic stop in Pines Village.

According to the New Orleans Police Department, at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 5 an officer was patrolling in the 4600 block of Downman Road when they reportedly spotted 47-year-old Will Marks driving in the area.

Marks was reportedly wanted for a June 28 assault incident.

The officer stopped Marks and arrested him. During a search of his vehicle, the NOPD officer reportedly found illegal drugs and a handgun.

As a result of citizen complaints, a search warrant was then issued for his home where officers reportedly found large quantities of narcotics, including cocaine and drug trafficking paraphernalia.

Marks will face charges of aggravated assault, in addition to possession of illegal drugs, possession of drug trafficking paraphernalia, and possession of a firearm while in possession of illegal drugs.
