MARRERO, La. ( WGNO ) — A Denver family arrived in Marrero ahead of Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour in October just to discover the hotel they had booked was closed because of Hurricane Ida.
More than a year before the trip, Katie Sanchez booked a two-night stay at the Baymont by Wyndham Marrero for $224.38
On Friday, Oct. 25, Sanchez, along with her husband and teenage daughter, flew from their home in Denver to Pensacola.
“We rented a car in Pensacola, and we stopped in Biloxi, and then we finished our day by arriving at the hotel at about 7 p.m.,” said Sanchez.

Just two days prior, Sanchez received an email from the Wyndham Hotel Group, confirming her stay at the hotel on the Westbank Expressway.
When Sanchez and her family arrived Friday night, something seemed off.
“I noticed that the big light wasn’t on. I’m like, Oh, that’s weird. What’s up with that? We pull in, and there are security fences surrounding the property,” explained Sanchez. “The property is entirely dark.”
