Stolen car and drugs obtained following Kenner chase: police

KENNER, La. ( WGNO ) — A man has been arrested and a reportedly stolen vehicle as well as drugs recovered following a pursuit that took place in Kenner on Tuesday, Nov. 12.

According to the Kenner Police Department, around 2:38 p.m., an officer in the traffic division saw a blue Dodge Charger moving at a high speed go through a red light in the 4300 block of Williams Boulevard.

The officer reportedly tried to stop the vehicle by flashing his lights and activating his siren, but the Charger didn’t stop and fled. From there, more officers with the KPD came to the area and the Dodge ended up getting on Interstate 10 eastbound at Power Boulevard before hitting the back of a truck due to traffic and sustaining significant damage.

The driver of the speeding car, identified as 18-year-old Jerry Hickman, of Texas, was arrested. Police say they found drugs such as marijuana and PCP in the vehicle.
