Colder conditions settle in over the weekend

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) – Another cold front making its way through the area will take temperatures down again through the weekend. Breezy conditions bring in drier and cooler air taking overnight lows for Saturday morning into the 30s with areas north and west getting down to the freezing mark. It will be noticeably chillier during the day on Saturday with highs only in the 50s. This is a great time for enjoying the chill if it puts you in the holiday spirit. Sunday morning will be even colder with some areas well north getting into the upper 20s for lows. This is above hard freeze criteria and should not be an issue for pipes. Sunday will be cold during the afternoon as well with temps in the low 50s for highs. Another chilly start on Monday, but the warming trend takes over as we head into the Christmas holiday. Lows will rise into the 40s and 50s with highs in the 60s and closer to 70 by Christmas Day.
