I’m so ashamed of my city, New Orleans. Of course the bollards were not there on Bourbon Street to prevent an attack. This failure is just another example of the broader dysfunction we see every day. Drive around, and it’s impossible to ignore the issues: potholes, clogged catch basins, broken traffic lights, homeless camps, missing street signs, crumbling buildings, an understaffed police force, abandoned road projects and the ever problematic Sewerage & Water Board. The list feels endless.
