A vehicle struck a pole in New Orleans’ Bywater neighborhood Sunday, causing an outage that left more than 3,700 households without power for several hours.

The New Orleans City Council’s Utilities Committee said crews from Entergy New Orleans are investigating an outage that stemmed from “a public vehicle striking a pole.” More details were not immediately available.

The outage left a large swath of Bywater without power as temperatures remained chilly, at 49 degrees with high humidity, following a cold front that reached New Orleans last week.
