Nine Louisiana residents sentenced to federal prison for trafficking meth from Houston

Nine Louisiana residents have been sentenced to prison terms after a drug trafficking investigation in Avoyelles Parish, according to a news release.

An investigation into methamphetamine distribution in Avoyelles Parish was started by the FBI Central Louisiana Gang Task Force, reads the release from acting U.S. Attorney Alexander C. Van Hook. It included surveillance and authorized wire tapes for phones being used to traffic drugs, it reads.

Those wiretaps supplied investigators with “numerous communications between the defendants wherein they discussed their narcotics trafficking,” reads the release…
