Southeast Louisiana residents should prepare for a dangerous weather system moving over the area Saturday that will be capable of producing several supercell tornadoes, a forecaster with the National Weather Service Storm Prediction Center said Friday afternoon.
Much of the South is at risk of severe weather overnight Friday through Saturday evening, according to the latest NWS forecast.
New Orleans and Baton Rouge face what the NWS calls a moderate risk of severe weather, including multiple tornadoes, hail and up to hurricane-force winds.
