Active weather pattern returns with severe storms possible Sunday

SHREVEPORT, La. – An enhanced risk for severe thunderstorms is in place Sunday and Sunday night for all of southwest Arkansas, and portions of northeast Texas and north Louisiana.

The main severe weather risk will start to form late this afternoon and into the evening. Until then, it will be partly to mostly cloudy with warm temperatures and breezy conditions.

Any type of severe weather will be possible with this weather system including large hail, high winds and isolated tornadoes. There may be isolated issues with flash flooding. While the dynamics are there for severe storms, not all areas will see the storms. However, please stay alert to changing weather conditions. Storm formation could start after 4pm, but better chances towards 6pm and after.

If you plan to go to the Defenders of Liberty Air Show at Barksdale, it will likely be breezy and warm. Right now it looks like the best chance for storms may hold off until after the Air Show has concluded. Of course, monitor the weather later today.
