NOPD says law firm couldn’t prove uncooperative Vappie obtained citizen’s personal data for Cantrell

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) – Investigators hired by the city found no evidence to support allegations that former New Orleans police officer Jeffrey Vappie violated department policies or played a role in providing a citizen’s private information to Mayor LaToya Cantrell for a stalking complaint.

However, the investigators also said Vappie and Cantrell did not cooperate with their probe, and there was not enough information to reach a conclusion on whether he violated policies.

The NOPD hired Transcendent Law Group to investigate Vappie and three other officers on allegations they played a role in providing Cantrell the social security number, old ID photo and expunged legal history of Anne Breaud…
