Beating the odds, New Orleans man marking five years with ALS

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) – Nearly five years after his ALS diagnosis, Brian Jeansonne and his family are celebrating a milestone many never reach.

Jeansonne was first diagnosed with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, commonly known as ALS, shortly before Thanksgiving in 2019. The progressive neurodegenerative disease affects nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord and typically comes with a grim prognosis.
