NEW ORLEANS — Mayor LaToya Cantrell’s Office is pushing a change to home roofing repairs that they hope will help with the ongoing home insurance crisis.
The city will now require permits for new roofs and will allow photos to replace in-person inspections. It will also require contractors to pull permits for any single or two-family home on which they’ve done more than half of the renovations.
