NOPD officers receive Medals of Merit for heroic efforts during Bourbon Street terror attack

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) – The New Orleans Police Department honored the officers who responded to the Bourbon Street terror attack during a ceremony at Gallier Hall on Thursday morning (May 8).

These officers were among the first on the scene just minutes after Shamsud Din Jabbar drove a truck through crowds of people hours into the new year.

Sergeant Nigel Daggs and Officer Christian Beyer received the Medal of Merit for their efforts to stop Jabbar from causing further harm…
