Mother accused of child desertion after leaving kids in running car outside Target

KENNER, La. (WVUE) – A woman accused of abandoning her two young children in a running car outside a Kenner Target store is wanted by police after fleeing the scene with the kids still inside the vehicle.

Kenner Police say Brandi Fobbs, 40, also known as Brandi Williams, is facing multiple charges including two counts of child desertion, resisting arrest, reckless driving, and hit-and-run.

According to police, officers responded to the Target parking lot after a witness reported a 1-year-old and an 8-year-old alone in a running Buick, which was blocking handicap parking spaces and had no license plate or car seats. They say the children were pressing buttons inside the car, turning on hazard lights, and revving the engine…
