NEW ORLEANS — City officials once said Hardin Playground was a hot spot for crime, WWL Louisiana has reported on the city’s push to revitalize the green space in the 7th Ward.
Monday afternoon, officials announced that, after months of work, the park will soon be a place for all New Orleans children to play.
Hardin Playground is nestled in the 7th Ward. According to the Orleans Parish District Attorney’s office, the park and the surrounding area were once riddled with crime. DA Jason Williams said, “We’re talking about joy, community, and hope in a neighborhood that has tried to survive without investment, attention, and care.”…
