A homicide suspect has been detained following a swift investigation by the New Orleans Police Department (NOPD) and Louisiana State Police (LSP). The incident in question took place on June 18, NOPD News reports, when a physical altercation on the 21700 block of Chef Menteur Highway escalated, ending with one man fatally stabbed.
Authorities were alerted by a driver who witnessed the confrontation at around 4:40 p.m. and observed the assailant flee in a silver SUV. NOPD Seventh District officers, and subsequently LSP Troop NOLA and the Violent Crime Investigative Abatement Team (VCAIT), responded. The victim was found dead at the scene, prompting the investigation’s reclassification to a homicide case, as per NOPD News.
