Man arrested after allegedly confessing to killing girlfriend, burying her in St. Roch backyard

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) – A homicide investigation is underway after a woman was found dead in St. Roch, according to the NOPD.

Around 6 p.m. Saturday (June 28), officers arrived in the 2000 block of Marigny Street, where a woman’s body was found. New Orleans police said they received a call from a man who said he had fatally shot his girlfriend and buried her body in the backyard.

The NOPD said 24-year-old Benjamin Camp was arrested at the scene. Court records show Camp was booked with second-degree murder and obstruction of justice…
