Nurses at University Medical Center in New Orleans will go on strike for two days later this month to protest what union organizers say is retaliation by the hospital’s parent company, LCMC Health, against several nurses for their union activity.
It’s the fourth time in less than a year that nurses at the downtown hospital, represented by National Nurses United, have voted to strike, costing LCMC Health millions as contract talks continue without resolution.
