The New Orleans Police Department (NOPD) is currently seeking public assistance in identifying and locating a suspect involved in a hit-and-run incident. The collision, which occurred around 8:30 p.m. on April 11, involved a white Ford Expedition and a motorcycle at the intersection of Tulane Avenue and South Claiborne Avenue. According to a statement obtained by NOPD News, following the collision, the vehicle in question fled the scene heading toward uptown on South Claiborne Avenue without stopping to aid the injured motorcyclist.
Witnesses reported that the Ford Expedition, which may range in model year from 2000 to 2024, sustained front-end damage as a result of the crash. The NOPD described the vehicle as having dark-tinted glass on all windows, including the windshield. This detail may help to quickly identify the car involved in the hit-and-run. Unfortunately, the license plate number of the vehicle was not obtained, nor was there an available description of the driver to aid in the ongoing investigation.
The hit-and-run has left the motorcycle rider with injuries, details of which have not been publicly released.
