The search for an 86-year-old Kenner man who had been reported missing came to a close when authorities located him safe over the weekend. Manuel Sobrino, who was last seen leaving his home on Thursday night, July 10, around 11:30 p.m., has been found and the Silver Alert previously issued has been cancelled, as reported by the Louisiana State Police.
It was after Sobrino, described as a Hispanic male weighing about 130 pounds and standing 5′7″ tall, did not return home, that the Kenner Police Department asked the state law enforcement to swiftly to issue a Silver Alert. Sobrino has a medical condition that could impair his judgment, making his disappearance particularly concerning. WDSU News further details that he was wearing a black ball cap, a gray and white long-sleeved shirt, and khaki pants when he was last seen.
Information from WWLTV indicated that Sobrino was believed to have been on his black bicycle with a basket at the time of his disappearance.
