New Orleans and the surrounding area were placed under a flood advisory Monday afternoon by the National Weather Service as the region dealt with heavy rain that left thousands without power.
Over 5,400 customers were without power in New Orleans, according to Entergy’s outage map. The outages were largely in the Uptown/Carrollton areas.
The flood advisory was issued before 12:40 p.m. and will be in effect until 3:45 p.m.
