Orleans jail worker charged with malfeasance, assisting inmates’ May 16 jailbreak

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) – An Orleans Justice Center maintenance worker was charged Tuesday (July 15) with 11 counts accusing him of assisting inmates in the May 16 jailbreak from the facility.

Sterling Williams, 33, was charged in a bill of information from Attorney General Liz Murrill’s office with malfeasance in office and 10 counts of principal to simple escape.
