Heat levels rising the next few days

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) – Higher heat and less rain is the weather story for the end of the weekend and start of the new week.

Highs Sunday begin to soar into the middle 90s. We’ll be consistently in the mid-90s entering this week, with the peak of the heat wave coming Wednesday. That’s when highs could soar to 98 or 99 degrees.

When the air temperatures get this hot, the heat index follows. Our feels-like readings are likely to get into the 108-115 range. That means a Heat Advisory or Extreme Heat Warning will be needed through at least Wednesday…
