Sheriff Susan Hutson this evening issued a statement after a local TV station erroneously reported that the federal government had removed her from the jail and taken over operations.
“The Orleans Parish Sheriff’s Office categorically and unequivocally denies the false rumors circulating regarding a federal takeover of the Orleans Justice Center,” OPSO said in a news release.
The statement reiterates that there has been no federal takeover of the jail.
“We remain under the leadership of the Orleans Parish Sheriff Susan Hutson, fully committed to constitutional operations and transparent reform.”…
