Sentencing for Orleans Parish Sheriff Susan Hutson delayed

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) – The sentencing of Orleans Parish Sheriff Susan Hutson has been temporarily suspended by an appeals court, delaying a ruling in a legal dispute over weekend court staffing.

Hutson was scheduled to be sentenced Monday after being found in contempt of court for failing to provide deputies to staff weekend criminal court sessions. She faces up to six months in jail or a $500 fine.
