Drivers who frequent Johnny Jackson Jr. Boulevard and Higgins Boulevard in New Orleans, get ready for some detours ahead. Starting August 6, at 7 a.m., the 3600 block of Johnny Jackson Jr. Boulevard, also known as Louisa Street, and the 3200 block of Higgins Boulevard, recognized as Carver Rams Way, will intermittently close to traffic for around three weeks, as reported by the City of New Orleans Department of Public Works.
The temporary inconvenience is due to street repairs under the DPW775: Right of Way Improvement Concrete Project. Work includes replacing concrete panels, paving, and fixing sidewalks. During construction, parking won’t be allowed where crews are working—signs will go up in advance to warn drivers.
