New Orleans police working trash and treasure theft cases in Mid-City

NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — The New Orleans Police Department is trying to identify and arrest a suspect accused in a pair of Mid-City theft investigations. The case is the latest one to roll on the Wheel of Justice.

According to police, the first theft happened around 7 p.m. on July 25 in the 500 block of North Hennessey Street. Police say a man arrived in the area on a bicycle and used it to tow away a recycling bin that was stolen from a business there.

Four days later, around 2 p.m. on July 29, police say the same man returned to the 500 block of Hennessey and stole someone’s motorcycle. The motorcycle was recovered in some nearby brush.

The NOPD released security camera footage of the the suspect in both thefts. Police say it’s the same person, although they do not know his identity.
