Floyd Jones, 38, of New Orleans, was sentenced to 80 months in federal prison for each of three counts of drug distribution and firearms offenses, to be served concurrently. The announcement was made by Acting United States Attorney Michael M. Simpson on Tuesday, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
Jones was convicted of distributing methamphetamine and possessing a firearm as a convicted felon. He was arrested on October 3, 2024, after investigations into narcotics and firearm trafficking. Court records state that on July 15 and August 22, 2024, he distributed more than 50 grams of methamphetamine and sold a loaded 9mm pistol illegally.
