Erin downgrades to Category 3 hurricane

NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) – Erin is keeping us on the edge of our seat in what it will do next!

Over the last 48-hours, Erin became a hurricane then declared a category 5 major hurricane, but has since simmered down to a category 3 status on Sunday although the National Hurricane Center believes this is not the end yet.

Currently, Erin is located about 235-miles north-northwest of San Juan, Puerto Rico and 200-miles east of Grand Turk Island as it moves west-northwest at 13-mph…
