Rideshare driver tried robbing woman at knifepoint in Uptown New Orleans, police say

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) – A female rideshare driver tried robbing a woman passenger at knifepoint late Friday night (Aug. 29) in Uptown New Orleans, police said.

The NOPD did not provide a name or description of the driver, nor say for which rideshare company she was working.

According to police, a woman reported she was the passenger in the rideshare vehicle when the driver stopped at Willow Street and McAlister Drive near the Tulane University campus around 11:44 p.m. She told police the driver “produced a knife and demanded money,” the NOPD said…
