BATON ROUGE — The FBI is issuing urgent warnings about an alleged violent online terror network known as 764, a nihilistic extremist group actively preying on vulnerable young people online across the United States.
The FBI has more than 250 investigations into 764 currently underway, according to ABC News. Officials say victims have been identified as young as nine years old, and federal authorities warn that the true number could reach into the thousands worldwide.
With all 55 FBI field offices, including New Orleans, now involved in combating this threat, officials say the group’s reach is both global and growing.
